This is going to be an offseason for the ages. The most Cap Space in the NFL, the most coveted pick is in our hands, and we already have the QB of the future #H1M.

The Chicago Bears have the number one overall pick for the first time since Harry S Truman was in office. Well thank you for your service Harriott, but the only office that matters now is the Bears Front Office. Ryan Poles, here you go. Are you the guy? I’ll be honest I have no idea.
We have lost out on the chance for having the 32nd pick because of his knee jerk trade of Chase Claypool. The majority of his offseason signings either failed their physicals or got arrested. He did nothing to help Fields at all this year. Velus Jones.
Another interesting bit of information is how all of last offseason we heard “Poles isn’t making any moves because he wants more comp picks”. Perfect. I love it. So what are we projected to get? Nothing.
Now I’ll be the first to tell you I know NOTHING about the Compensatory Picks or comp pick process. But, you know who should know about them? Our GM. Ryan Poles, what are you doing? He did not make a single move last offseason that could ever help us, and yet we still are not getting anything back after watching Allen Robinson, James Daniels, Bilal Nichols, and Andy Dalton all sign elsewhere. He dropped the ball.
Now there is a real possibility we somehow get a comp pick (again I don’t know much on the subject), but apparently as of now we are guaranteed none. F- Ryan Poles, F-.
But I am a forgiving man believe it or not, and I also want to point out the positives heading into next season.
The Offense
Khalil Herbert looks more than promising. We walk into next year without a WR1, but with some very good WR depth with Darnell Mooney, Chase Claypool, Eq(not even going to attempt to spell it) St. Brown, and Velus Jones (who I am being wildly optimistic about). Cole Kmet looks like a TE1 finally after leading the team in receiving yards this season. The OL looks to carry Braxton Jones and Teven Jenkins as young, solid starters into 2023.
Other names under contract involve OL Cody Whitehair, Lucas Patrick, Doug Kramer, Larry Broom, and Alex Leatherwood. Backups Trevor Siemen and Tristan Ebner are under contract as well.
Oh, and I forgot God #H1Mself. The Franchise. Justin Fields.
The Defense
Rookies Dominique Robinson, Kyler Gordon, Jaquan Brisker, Jaylon Jones, and Jack Sanborn all showed promise in different parts of the season. Jaylon Johnson looked like a budding CB1 and Eddie Jackson seemed to be the BoJack of old for extended periods of time. DL Justin Jones, Angelo Blackson, Travis Gipson, and Al-Quadin Muhammad all remain under contract; along with DBs Vildor, Hicks, and Ojemudia.
K Cairo Santos and P Trenton Gill are more than capable going forward, and both under contract.
They won’t all be here (and nor should we want all of them to be) but that is a heck of a group to have under contract at the least. It gives the team options, competition in camp, or great depth if they make it that far.
